Body: Sports Car
Exterior color: Silver

This utterly gorgeous MG TF is for sale on behalf of a client who's decided to change from a beautiful English sports car to a classic American pick up. But his journey with this lovely car has been eventful and successful.

Built in August 1954 and delivered to it's first owner in New England, America the car was cherished until 2012 when it underwent restoration in Iowa. The paintwork was blasted back to bare metal, treated with rust preventative and repainted in dark metallic silver.

In 2015 the car arrived in the UK and it's current owner bought it from a reputable classic car dealer in 2018. From there, he embarked on a complete and thorough restoration to bring the car to the condition it's in today. When he bought the car, our client described it as looking good from a few feet away but didn't stand up to close inspection. The wood frame was in very poor condition and completely rotten in places. The interior was tired, carpets poor and the hood didn't fit correctly. It needed help.

Today, as I hope you can see, this beautiful example is a showpiece. The current owner replaced the frame, rebuilt the engine, I could go on but in essence this car has been totally rebuilt. Also, it's now right hand drive. The original gearbox has been replaced with a rebuilt 5 speed unit from a Ford Sierra - a popular modification for these cars which makes them so much more drivable. The hood, carpets, trim, leather, wiring...... all new.

It's starts on the turn of a key, shows excellent oil pressure and drives like a dream. There is a folder full of history for the car and a photographic history of the restoration.

This is a car that must be seen to be appreciated so please get in touch for more information and to make an appointment.
