Purchased new right hand drive by a US Serviceman whilst based here in the UK; on his demob this 1954 MG TF 1500 was shipped back to his home in Pennsylvania.
In the mid/late 1960s, in order to fit in with US driving patterns it was modified professionally with the installation of the then new MGB 1798 cc engine, gear box and running gear, including front discs, suspension, and MGB instrumentation.
Shortly aferwards the then owner died, and for the next 30 years or more the vehicle was left forgotten in dry barn storage until 2005 when it was found and bought by a restoration engineer who carried out a full body restoration, removing and/or exposing all body panels for a comprehensive repaint:- bonnet/body panels, wings, running boards, petrol tank, rear splash apron, and outside trim. In 2006 it was re-imported back into the UK, given "UK Year of Manufacture Plates" and subsequently bought by the present owner who over 10 years has completed the refurbishment of mechanicals, electrics/instrumentation, hudraulics including new pipework and brake servo, some timber subframe work, carpets, linings, trim, and all remaining fittings.
Smart, well maintained:- A unique vehicle at an attractive price!
