1939 MG VA Tax and MOT exempt We have the buff log book showing the original owner from Purley (the new log book will be with us shortly). Which is showing the stamps for petrol rations in 1949 & 50. There is also a few notes including brake relining being done.
The car seems mechanically all good with 40 lbs oil pressure and no noises from the drive train. The car handles very well, clutch is good as is the radiator and engine sounds nice. All the lights work, good tyres fitted to what looks like refurbished 19" wheels. The sunroof still operates.
Now the not so good bits... The paint is flaking off the wings, it must have been under a tree or something for the roof paint to lift. There is some fibre glass under the back light cluster and on the bolting point at the top of the rear wings. The green leather trimmed seats although worn are quite usable and nice. All the glass is quite good and the chrome door handles are nice but a bit pitted. The head lining is worn and thin in places but, a very easy job to replace. The gauges look good with that old fashioned brass look and they all work although not tried 100mph or 5000rpm. Welcome to pay before you try!
All in all a nice and extremely rare car to use right away and enjoy...
