History of Mini Advantage 1987 with just 33, 000 Miles Purchased new by Mrs Richardson Carlisle 4/ 9/ 87 from      County Motors Carlisle Austin Rover Dealers -and later sold to her friend Mrs Rigg also of Carlisle who lived just five miles away in 2003. We were informed that Mrs Rigg used the car for only a short time when it then went into storage in a garage and stayed there for the next 17 years unused. It then surfaced in Oct 2021 with just 31, 000 miles and was purchased by West End Classics for a family member. The Advantage was very much an upmarket model when launched with its tinted glass windows, unique upholstery, and the three dial instruments that included a tachometer. The interior of the car was in superb condition but it did have the usual front wing under the headlight problems and rather than do a quick make over the decision was taken to replace both front wings, front panel, A panels, and door slams to prevent further problems down the line. With all the panels removed from the car it was then treated to a new coat of paint and attention reverted to all other aspects of the vehicle. It was at this stage that we really went to town on the car replacing the rear subframe, fully adjustable suspension, whole braking system, all the cooling system, the fuel system, every pipe and rubber hose, all master and slave cylinders, exhaust system, wheels, tyres, and a massive list of small items far too long to list here. The prime objective to create a 100% reliable car for the young lady driver. It returned to the road in Jan 2025 and has now completed just over 2000 totally trouble free miles and only comes to the market due to move away to university in Sept.
