Seller's comments about 1946' Morris Eight Series E

This lovely 72 year old car is beautifully aged. She carries a wonderful patina inside and out. The deep black paintwork has several minor age related imperfections but no major rust. The chassis is extremely solid and well maintained. The original brown leather interior has various mature repairs that all add to the feel of this honest little vehicle.
The engine starts first time and runs beautifully with no sign of blue smoke. Hardened valve seats have been installed allowing it to run on modern unleaded fuel. The gearbox is strong and very slick by 1940s standards. A new stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted. On the road the car drives fabulously and is a joy to handle. She pulls strongly and cruises quite happily at 45-50mph.
Inside, all the dials and switches do what they’re supposed to. She’s been updated with indicators but the trafficators are still present. The sliding head opens and closes with ease and the roller blind is still present in the rear window. The windscreen opens which is a huge bonus on a hot summers day.
The electrical system has been converted to 12V.
The car comes with a vast history file containing dozens of old MOT certificates and bills for work carried out. There is also a collection of spare parts that accompany the car.
This beautiful old girl is well-known within the Morris register having been owned by several long-standing members. She is located in Oxfordshire just a couple of miles from the Cowley factory where she was built and is realistically priced to sell at £5600 (or very near offer).
