1959 Mk 1 Morris Mini Minor Saloon De-Luxe Barn Find
This Cherry Red Morris Mini was despatched from the factory on 9th December 1959 making it one of the last of the first year of Mini production. There remain about the details below Minis left in the world so not much more than a 1% survival rate.
At nearly 60 years old she needs extensive restoration and has the majority of the unique 59 features as listed on the 1959 Mini Register’s website. She currently has a sporty 998cc engine, but the original restored 850cc engine is included in the sale. We even have the correct chrome wheel trims, but sadly not the glass washer bottle. We have her British Motor Museum birth certificate (Heritage Certificate) a certified copy of the Minis entry in the original factory ledger, showing its specification as it left the production line.
We purchased her from a chap in Hampshire two years ago where she was dry stored in a garage. Very sadly his father had died and he never got around to restoring her, instead, he worked on his Minivan. She has always been garaged except when she escaped this year to be displayed at the London Classic Car Show and was featured in several magazines afterward.
