The car is in Northern Ireland and has a standard UK V5 registration, it’s usable anywhere in the UK without re-registration or import duties. Its long-term ownership in Northern Ireland also makes it favourable for import into Southern Ireland. We can help with delivery anywhere in the UK or Ireland.
In long-term ownership from 1972 to 2025, the owner used it for deliveries and advertising his drapery business, meticulously maintaining it until recently, when he could no longer use it. The van has covered only 61200 miles in its 57 years, and while I cannot guarantee this with absolute certainty, the owner assured me that the mileage is accurate.
The exterior presents very well, with some blemishes as expected on a 57 year old car, the chrome work is good and the paint is shiny and bright.
Inside the van, the seats and carpets are in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of wear. The rear cargo area is equally well-preserved, reflecting the van's light use over the years.
Structurally, the car is sound, with no notable concerns under the bonnet, in the boot, or across the underside.
On the road, she drives really well, free of any unwelcome noises, rattles, or bangs, it changes gear with ease, and the engine sounds so sweet cruising comfortably at 55 MPH.
Five months after the Mini's launch in August 1959, BMC introduced the first variant, the Mini Van, in January 1960.
With a 25 cm longer floor assembly, it offered a spacious cargo area, housing the battery, spare wheel, and fuel tank beneath. Designed for utility, it featured minimal equipment, no chrome trim, and a simple stamped sheet metal grille painted to match the body. Austin and Morris models differed only by their emblems.
The description of the car reflects my personal opinion based on my experience, and time with the car. However, opinions are subjective, and what I find acceptable may differ from your perspective.
Please keep in mind that she’s 57 years old and shouldn't be compared to a modern car. As with any classic car, there will always be minor faults, areas that may need attention, and room for improvement. It is also inevitable classic cars will require ongoing attention, maintenance, and improvements.
If you're considering purchasing the car, I strongly encourage you to examine and test it in person to ensure it meets your expectations and suits your needs. This will give you the opportunity to fully appreciate its condition and assess whether it’s the right car for you.
