Seller's comments about 1960' Morris Mini Minor

832 YUE (formally 3866 VW) is the following:

- March 1960 Morris Mini Minor
- 61,000 Miles

Below is a brief history of the car:

- 31 March 1960: Registered (Heritage Certificate, Essex Records, DVLA Records)
- 31 March 1960: First Dealer- P.G Page Limited (Heritage Certificate)
- 31 March 1960: First Owner- Alberta Rachel Mary Ladbrook (Essex Records Office)
- 12 April 2011: Second Owner- Paul Smith
- 21 May 2011: Plate Change- 3866 VW replaced with 832YUE (3866 VW now resides on a camper van. I have tried to purchase it back unsuccessfully)
- 6 March 2012: Sold at Coys Auction House to Chris Smith
- 11 June 2012: Sold to Benoit Derouck
- 16 April 2013: I buy the car from Benoit Derouck

The car has never had a full restoration and as such is very original. The car displays a decent amount of “patina” that many squeaky clean minis lack. I have added correct bits to it, such as early door pulls, rear pocket lights, brash dash pot, correct radiator, plug caps etc. Anything I could have corrected and put right over the years, I have.

It is clearly the case that the body has been painted at some point and I confirmed this with Paul Smith. That said the body itself, wings, floor panels etc. shows no sign of previous welding and is in very good tact. I am of the understanding that the car was in very dry storage for a long period of time before being picked up by Paul Smith – a “barn find” of sorts. He told me that all he did was fill the car up with fuel and it started first click. I somewhat dispute this but she certainly runs fine these days!

Much of the history of the car is known and documented.

This early mini shares many original features that have become so desirable today, I won’t list them because if you are still reading then you are probably aware. Despite this, she remains very usable and during my ownership can count several London to Manchester trips, as well as, London – Brighton etc. among her achievements.

The car is currently located in London for those who may wish to view. Please contact me to arrange viewing or ask any questions - 07702797630

Cheers.
