Seller's comments about 1970' Morris Minor
Sold new in the Carlisle area on the 15th July 1970 and finished in Almond Green, with complimenting Porcelain Green seats / door-cards and Green carpets we're delighted to offer this charming Morris Minor Traveller, having come to us recently from a collection as a part exchange against one of our other stunning classics.
A tour of the car suggests this Traveller has been subject to an older body restoration, circa last 20 years, 6k miles driven in that time, showing just under 12, 900 miles (unwarranted). A little gem of a classic, while not immaculate, we're known to source some of the finest / concours examples and take great pride in our detailed and accurate descriptions, she does present very well indeed, save for a few minor marks (we don't feel they detract), her paintwork has a great shine, looking bright finished in her Almond Green and its good to see her brightwork remains strong with no nasty tarnishing / pitting. The car remains in lovely over-all condition, a great useable example, with a super strong bulkhead / inner-wing areas and underbody too.... vital when buying a Minor!
Often a weak point on many Morris Minor Travellers the woodwork, remains highly original, having been maintained properly over the years, with a lovely aged, honey'd colour to the timber. On opening the doors / tail-gate, the driver and passengers are met with a highly original interior too, in wonderful condition, we lovely the stainless steel sill guards. For a relatively small car, prospective buyers are often left surprised with just how much interior space there is, the boot especially.... perfect for picnics, weekends away.... we even know one gent (a physiotherapist) who folds the back seats down to transport his medical kit, bed included!
Mechanically in good order and having traveled less than 1000 miles in the last 10 years this Traveller is joy. With the smallest amount of 'choke' needed on start-up the 1098cc engine starts easily and pulls sweetly through all gears and the Traveller will happily sing along down country lines, the exhaust giving its unique 'waspy' rasp during gear-changes. With a nice history file, 18 previous MOT's, invoices and a lovely journal containing entries for maintenance, a brake servo upgrade in the last 500 miles, she's just a sweet Traveller and ahead of delivery / collection to her new owner we'll naturally have our engineer carry out our detailed 'Health Check', service as necessary and despite being MOT exempt we'll ensure she comes with a new MOT, great peace-of-mind for her new keeper too!
A delight to drive, well cared for, easy to maintain and fully serviced and MOT'd ahead of sale this Morris Minor Traveller offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy classic British motoring, at a competitive price and we feel that if you see her, you'll fall in love with this little gem too.
