Oldsmobile Toronado V8 5.7 liters (1979) – your project with history
The Oldsmobile Toronado, introduced in the fall of 1965, was a groundbreaking model from the American automobile manufacturer General Motors. The Toronado was the first American production vehicle since the Cord models of the 1930s to have front-wheel drive and set new standards in the luxury class.
Our Toronado on offer dates from 1979 and belongs to the third generation of this model, which was produced from 1979 to 1985. In this generation, the vehicle was developed on General Motors' so-called E platform, which it shared with models such as the Cadillac Eldorado and the Buick Riviera. Compared to the previous series, the new Toronado was almost half a meter shorter, 20 centimeters narrower and an impressive 400 kilograms lighter.
