A rare and iconic Packard Sedan; one of the first models with the clean uncluttered streamlines popular in the late 1940’s. This car has the legendary Packard 8-in-line engine and has been sympathetically refurbished and mechanically rebuilt. It has an imposing presence and is easy to drive although being LHD.
This 1949 Club Sedan (Model 2935) spent most of its life in Virginia and was imported and registered in Scotland in 2014 since when it has had two owners. Both have made mechanical improvements and the inside has been tidied while keeping its originality. The bodywork is good throughout and the underneath clean and tidy. The powerful 4.7 litre engine was rebuilt in the States and is superb and with so much torque that it can start in top gear. The electrics, fuel system and carburettor have been refurbished and it has a new electronic ignition system.
This Packard has been used in a movie and most recently in Glasgow for the Outlander TV Series where it stole the show in several scenes. It should really be kept and used as it is. There are some new front brake shoes in the boot and it has one or two documents including an original Handbook and a Workshop Manual.
Delivery can be arranged and part-exchange with an interesting car of similar or older age is possible.
