1931 PEUGEOT 201 BERLINE AFFAIRES LHDThe Peugeot 201 was presented at the 1929 Paris Motor Show with the backdrop of the Wall Street crash. While many European manufacturers did not survive the ensuing depression, the 201's image as an inexpensive car helped Peugeot to survive the economic crisis with its finances intact and its status as a major auto producer confirmed. This 1931 left-hand drive example is powered by a 1122 cc engine developing 23 hp (17 kW) at 3500 rpm (top speed: 80 km/ h / 50 mph. She was imported in 2015 and is UK registered with the registration UXS 688. She spent the majority of her life in northern France, in 2015 the elderly owner drove her to the UK to emigrate with his family. A few years later, the car changed hands to a couple in Sheffield who used her for some Military shows and in 2020 she was given to a production company for a military movie that never happed due to COVID but had been sprayed the tan colour, having been originally black. The current owner purchased her in 2024. The car has had a full electrical rewire. It’s been fitted with an isolator switch along with fuses & a USB socket hidden out of sight. Originally it would have had two 6V batteries under the floor but it’s now got one 12V battery. It has a downdraught Solex carburettor due to unavailability of a correct carburettor but the original is still with the car. She has not been started since the end of the show season in 2025 and accordingly would benefit from a light recommissioning. The vendor reports that she was starting and driving well. Showing 89948 kms (55891 miles) the brakes & drivetrain are in very good condition as is the interior. She would benefit from a new headlining & the roof restitching. An honest example of this rare car, ready to be taken to the next level at a sensible guide of just £3500-£4500This vehicle is located nearAbergele, Conwy LL22 from where it will need to be collected.
