Supplied new to South Africa via Lindsay Saker in Johannesburg it was first registered in November 1960 finished in Ivory with a black leather interior. The car was delivered new to a museum, when Dr Meintjies from Kariega purchased it from his doctor friend in 1965 it was clear he adored the car as we have a number of invoices showing he regularly had the car serviced by a local garage. In 2013 the car was sold to Angelo Zenios from Cape Town, during his ownership the car has been bi-annually serviced at Porsche Centre Cape Town, he began a light re-commission to the car which included; front headlights, park lights, brake lights, licence plate, reverse lights plus front and rear indicator globes being replaced due to age and a new condenser in 2013. Carrera Motors fitted new front and rear bumper rubbers, sill rubbers, wiper blades and replaced the upper chrome grilles. A new master cylinder was fitted by Carrera Motors as well as heater hose, tension sleeve, gasket and reverse cable. There is a detailed 3-page document of the work carried out between 2013 and 2020. In the summer of 2022 the car was acquired by our client, disassembled and repainted glass-out. The cosmetic presentation plus the mechanical parts are all matching original which leaves us with an outstanding example of the much loved 356B.
Accompanied with the car is its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity which confirms it still retains its original chassis, body, engine and gearbox. In addition the car is offered with a spare wheel and very well documented history file.
