Stunning matching numbers 356 originally purchased by internationally respected 356 restorer Roger Bray who fully restored this C coupe in the early 90’s.Letter of authenticity, export registration, Rogers 1993 condition report and rebuild photos from 1996. Limited use since restoration and periods in dry, heated and de humidified storage.Summary from the owner prior to the current owner I am selling on behalf of. Delivered new to Lyndsay, official VW-Porsche importer/ dealer Johannesburg, South Africa 20/ 12/ 1964. Export documents show first registered in 1965First registered in the UK 1/ 05/ 1992 then purchased by Porsche enthusiast, Malcolm Richardson, 4/ 12/ 1993. After 3 years, Malcolm was in the market for a Speedster so sold the car to me 29/ 06/ 1996. I had been looking for a ‘good’ RHD 356 for years...On purchase, delivered to RB (July 1996) for review, service, general re-commissioning, overhaul of all running gear, steering box, damper, brakes, new Koni shocks, wheel bearings, carb kits, brake overhaul etc. At the time it was considered very original and as I wanted it to "last forever” we decided to media blast to bare metal and repair/ re-paint, essentially full restoration.Everything was overhauled Sept-Nov 1996. It’s fair to say that everything possible was done, including a full gearbox re-build, carbs sent away to be ‘re-newed’, blasted, painted, re-trimmed, new brightwork. The only things that were not done were; engine re-build, seats, door frame chrome. Circa 3, 000 miles since 1996, oil changed at least 5-6 times in that period.Purchased in 2022 by current owner Mr Allan Green as part of his collection of classics. Living locally to Roger Bray Allan and myself (Era classics) went to see the car prior to purchase and Roger enthusiastically told us all about it. Stunning and amazingly well preserved Allan continued to store in a Carcoon and is only selling to make way for a period racing Alfa for races such as the Millie Miglia. Roger Bray has just given it his usual comprehensive health checks in preparation for sale at a cost of £5, 500 including full service, tappets adjusted, new MOT, leak and compression tests etc ensuring its in fine fettle ready for the new owner to enjoy immediately. Its also been driven circa 450 miles since the service and performed superbly with fault free motoring and is a lovely reliable 356 that’s ready for any UK or European road trip.Full photo and video file available upon request
