Seller's comments about 1964' Porsche 356 Sc
The factory Kardex which accompanies this fabulous 356 coupe confirms that is a genuine SC model which retains its original engine and gearbox and is still finished in its original colour scheme of Dolphin Grey with blue corduroy trim, including optional headrests. A letter from Porsche, dated 1988, mentions that the then owner, a USAF Major from Ohio, was in the process of restoring the car to original condition.
Still in Ohio by the year 2000, the car then moved to North Carolina with its next owner who amassed an impressive quantity of invoices for work carried out over the 11 years or so that he owned the car. He then sold the SC to the last owner in San Diego, California.
The car has enjoyed enthusiastic ownership for the past 30-odd years and remains in immaculate condition throughout. It drives superbly as one would expect from the ultimate incarnation of the 356, fitted as it is with the 95bhp engine option and disc brakes front and rear. In 2012 the car was fitted with new floor pans and logitudinals by 356 specialists California Porsche Restoration. The car has covered around 10,000 miles since a comprehensive engine rebuild, carried out by Ed Pimm at EPR Automotive. All of this work is documented in a large history file that accompanies the car and details maintenance and expenditure since the 1980's.
