The time has come to sell my lovely 1965 Porsche 911.

Built on the 18th of June, 1965 (making this a true MY65 car and one of the first 1,500 Porsche 911's built) the car left the factory in Bali Blue (colour code 6412) and was optioned with a webasto heater, tinted windscreen and hub caps with crests.

The car was sold new through Petermax Müller of Hannover in Germany, who was an authorised Porsche dealer at the time and who also happened to be a famous German race car driver.

The car resided with it's first owner in Germany, where service records on the Kardex/build sheet show it's first scheduled service completed in Hahn, Stuttgart in October 65.

The car then found it's way to the USA with it's second owner where it remained until the early 2000s.

During it's time in the USA, the car was repainted to Signal red and the original engine was replaced with an engine from 2 litre American delivered 68 911. The car is also running Webber carburettors as opposed to the original Solex's that were fitted to 65-66 cars.

Throughout it's time in the USA, regular maintenance and servicing can be traced back with a stockpile of receipts as well as original registration papers up until it was imported by the 4th owner who moved to Australia in 2002.

Upon coming to Australia, the car was maintained by Weltmeister in Melbourne.

At 56,814 miles, a major overhaul was completed by Weltmeister with work carried out including removing the engine and fitting a hydraulic chain tensioner kit, new ball joints, tie rod ends, struts and new engine mounts with the invoice totalling $7,819.50 AUD. The car currently reads 62,303 miles.

Other recent work includes the car undergoing a gearbox overhaul with it's 901 5-speed gearbox entirely stripped and cleaned with new linkages and rubbers installed (December 2019).

The car still retains a lot of it's original features unique to the model year of 1965 which included the timber dash and VDM steering wheel as well as it's original Blaupunkt radio which is still working to this day as well as date matched wheels all dated "4/65". Furthermore the original chrome hub caps with Porsche crests are also included in the sale.

The paintwork and body is in good condition considering it has had an older restoration.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to purchase a first year Porsche 911 or someone wanting to enter historic racing events around Europe such as the Peter Auto 2 litre cup for per-66 Porsche 911's as well other racing events given the car's eligibility for Appendix K classification.
