Classic Car Design presents this beautiful 1972 Porsche 911 2. 4 S. It was modified to a “2. 7 RS look” almost 40 years ago! People back then cared less about the original bolt! So beware, this is not a 911 G “back-dater” but indeed a classic 911 whose styling has been revised to be more sporting—a bit of era-tuning, in a sense!Externally, proof that the work was carried out to a high standard, the body has been stripped and cavity-treated, and the car presents very well with its very seventies yellow finish enhanced by Carrera stripes and red wheels. The famous wing and the “RS” bumpers are complemented by additional lamps and the small bullet-style mirrors. The wheels are, of course, genuine Fuchs. The chrome trim from that era is in good condition. Note that the pop-out quarter windows open smoothly.Inside, the cabin is very well preserved. Dashboard, door panels or headlining are in very good condition. There are a few deviations from original as well, though not shocking. You can see the Recaro seats from another car and the Lecarra steering wheel. The carpets, which are in mint condition, have been given a red piping to match the exterior.Mechanically, like the rest of the car, the engine is “matching”, the gearbox, suspension, and brakes have benefited from extensive recommissioning. Even though it has covered little mileage in recent years, the car has always been kept in perfect working order.An appraisal testifies to the very good overall condition of this 911, which is a “testimonial” to a more relaxed era of personalisation. It nonetheless retains an authenticity to which current back-datings cannot lay claim.
