Seller's comments about 1973' Renault Alpine A110 1600 Sc

Our version is a 1600 SC with a special history. Bought new in June 1973 around Paris, it was kept barely three years by its owner who sold it on May 19, 1976 to a surgeon who entered into a few mountain and circuit championships in France from 1976 to 1982. Little by little, the car became part of a collection that included Ferraris and American sports cars in the owner’s second home not far from Paris, but with time and due to the more pressing responsibilities of his profession, the owner only took the Alpine out on weekends or to various classic car tours. After thirty-nine years he finally sold it to its current owner in May 2016. A fan of the brand and a brand ambassador who shows his support for Alpine at the current world endurance championships and 24 hours of Le Mans, his wish was to make his new acquisition into an exemplary model, faithful to the original version of this flagship of French sports car heritage.
The Alpine was totally stripped down and rebuilt new, and its fiberglass one-piece body was also fully restored. Its engine was removed, the carburettors were overhauled, the transmission was completely reconditioned and the exhaust was replaced. The running gear, brakes, bushings, and gaskets are new. The front section, the fuel system, the battery housing and supports were redone. The rims were sanded and polished. The result is breathtaking!
The interior of the cabin has the original bucket seats in perfect condition, new mats, while the display dials were cleaned and repaired for impeccable precision. The 65,000 km (40,389 miles) displayed on the odometer can faithfully be viewed as its true mileage.
Finally, this Alpine also received 605 hours of maintenance work performed by a team of experts. Suffice it to say that this car has been restored to brand new condition and adjusted perfectly. You only need to drive it to understand. Impeccable braking, precise and dynamic front assembly, clean, exact shifting… one would be tempted to say that it works better than the original.
