1936 Riley 12/ 4 Lynx (1937 model year)Registration: FMC 726Date of first registration: 13/ 12/ 1936Chassis number: 27L6028A well travelled 12/ 4 Lynx in an attractive colour scheme, known history from 1960 and accompanied by extensive paperwork.This car is a 1937 model registered in December 1936. It was purchased by the late current owner in 2009, an active Riley enthusiast who kept fastidious record of his ownership and work carried out as well as known history of the car.The car was fully restored in the 1960's which included changing the colour to black and reupholster in Connolly leather. Being now 60 years ago, this old restoration is evident however the car has been well maintained and cared for and the paintwork does still polish very well. The Connolly upholstery has also stood the test of time well and was re-dyed in 2010 to renovate the colour.Mechanically, the car has been well maintained and with invoicing detailing extensive work carried out with regular usage. The pre-select gearbox was largely rebuilt in 2015 and the engine was rebuilt in 2016. A new hood and tonneau were trimmed in 2022 and both fit well, as the photos show.Accompanying the car are 3 full files of invoices, history and photographs detailing the cherished life this car has enjoyed, including a trip to Turkey and Greece in 1968 and a trip to the Alps.
