We are really pleased to offer this fabulous Riley Special to the market

First registered (V5C) 25 March 1935.

A Riley 12/4 Special built on a shortened by 9”, narrow track 22T chassis (22T1359)

Our car has the very desirable and potent 1466 cc high twin cam engine known as the 12/4 (F6827) with twin SU carburettors, standard Armstrong Siddeley pre-selector gearbox, knock on wire wheels (4.75 – 5.00 x 18 inch), and a full Tonneau.

BXA 740 was built as much as possible in the “Riley Spirit” and retains a majority of original Riley fittings. Originally rebuilt by the Secretary of Riley Register from a derelict 1935 12/4 Riley Kestrel 22T, over a period of 28 years from 1978, when the mileage was recorded as 32282 miles. It has done a trouble free 4500 miles since then.

Over the past 12 months our Riley has had vast sums lavished to include a complete retrim to the finest detail and a bare metal respray….now presenting immaculately.

Blockley Tyres fitted all-round to complete the look and handling

The car has a classic and desirable low line and sporty shape with full and attractive dashboard instrumentation, and comes with the benefit of not only two small rear seats (suitable for children or luggage) but also some luggage space in the rear.

There is an old Buff Log Book (1959), some invoices of work done over the years, and some MOT`s from 2006.

The history file includes a picture of the original derelict vehicle and some pictures taken during restoration
