1938' Riley Kestrel "Big Four Blue Streak"

For sale is this exceptional rare example of this stunning sports saloon. It has been the subject of an intensive body off and mechanical restoration over a five year period with much attention to detail. The 2.5 litre engine and all mechanical components have been stripped, inspected and brought back to best specification as required. This includes new valve guides, conversion to unleaded head and the engine, clutch and flywheel balanced. The cylinder block has been de scaled and new core plugs fitted.
The 3 speed gearbox with overdrive on 2nd and 3rd has been stripped and new bearings fitted.
The differential has been fitted with a higher ratio enabling the car to keep up with modern motorway traffic
New linings fitted to the 16 inch drums and all brake linkages refurbished. New kingpins and bushes and all steering joints renewed. Steering box refurbished and re shimmed New radiator core and water pump.
The upholstery is finished in grey Connely hide and all interior walnut dash and trimmings re lacquered. The floor pan has had new panels inserted and wax oiled before assembly on the chassis, the car was then further wax oiled before returning to the road and is now totally rust free.
The body is finished in 2 pack black over blue.
All chroming has been done at Derby Plating to their exacting standard.
The car has been modified with an SU electric pump and twin carburettors.
All original parts are available and come with the car.
It has been the winner of many awards including best in show at Chatsworth and The Sandbatch Festival of Transport.
