• The Riley Nine Monaco was to set new standards for light cars when it debuted in 1926, the all-new twin camshaft engine with hemispherical ‘PR’ cylinder head gave this newcomer a remarkably brisk performance for a car of this class, being able to exceed 60 mph and out accelerate many far larger cars of the time.
• The attractive fabric coachwork featured an integral luggage boot - another first for a small saloon. There soon followed open touring and sports models, many of which were to achieve remarkable success and put Riley among the front runners in sporting events.
