Seller's comments about 1937' Riley Sprite

A masterpiece of automotive history. This exceptional Prewar classic was originally delivered as a "Kestrel" Saloon and was converted into a "Special" in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The new construction was carried out by hand in a complex process, with a new aluminum body being manufactured and all technical components being completely overhauled. The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine was equipped with four Amal carburettors, and new rims were also made that were fitted with Blockley tires. The car has an H-registration in Germany and is therefore approved for road traffic.Technical details:Engine: 1.5 liter 4-cylinder OHV engine with 4 Amal carburettorsTransmission: 4-speed Wilson Preselector gearboxBody: Hand-made aluminum bodyChassis: Completely overhauled axles, steering and suspensionTires: New rims with Blockley tires (The fenders shown are currently dismantled) Registration: H registration in GermanyHistorical background:The Riley 12/4, also known as Riley 1½-Litre, was produced from 1935 to 1938 and was available in various body styles, including Saloon, Tourer and Roadster.
