Seller's comments about 1931' Rolls-Royce 20/25 Park Ward Salon
1931 Rolls Royce 20/25 Park Ward Saloon
Chassis number: GFT51
Registration number: OU3567
This Rolls Royce has ben the personal car of one of the proprietors of The Priory Vintage Car Company. Needless to say it is in spot on mechanical condition having had care lavished on it in a way not many vintage Rolls Royce cars benefit from.
The car is finished in a deep blue over black to the exterior with a fabric covered roof. To the interior is grey hide with matching grey carpets; the hide having been replaced in 1986. The car benefits from having a Tim Payne overdrive which makes for very relaxed cruising on the numerous continental trips the car has completed. The clutch was renewed in 1986. This Rolls Royce 20/25 has been able to enjoy relaxed long-distance touring rallies in various European countries including France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Norway and the Czech Republic, and even three weeks in Borneo (Malaysia). Faster driving necessitated better braking, so all shoes have been relined and the brake drums reground.
Other works have included a rewire , rewinding of the Dynamo, Incorporating rear flasher units of the period and front flashers incorporated in the sidelights to meet the demands of modern motoring. The car runs equally well with the magneto engaged as it does then using the coil. The car has an unbroken ownership history from new. The car is sold with a Brexton rear trunk and a good quality cover. The mascot and AA badge are original to the car. Currently the car is displaying a believed genuine total of circa 139,399 miles on the odometer.
