Supplied new to the Eponymous WH Luden of Cough Drop Fame; his fortune was derived from the invention of the menthol cough drop. This Canterbury Landaulette is believed to be one of two produced to this design & extant. It was delivered new to Reading Pennsylvania.
The car has in recent years undergone a full & thorough restoration both bodily & mechanically. The engine has been taken down & new blocks fitted along with a fettling of the internals. The paintwork is just completed in a deep masons black & is as new. To the interior is the new correct cord to the rear having been beautifully done. The drivers seat is of black leather. The dashboard & roof lettice is untouched & displays a fantastic patina where the original paint has shrunk back over the years; absolutely impossible to replicate.
The car, needless to say, starts instantly & settles down to an even idle. The four-speed box is easy & pleasant to use. For open motoring, two latches unhitch & the landaulette hood folds easily back. Whitewall tyres set off the black coachwork beautifully as do the drum type Springfield headlamps. It is a really imposing upright car & attracts attention wherever it is parked.
