STOLEN! REWARD IF FOUND! 1972 Rover P5b Coupe 3500

My pride and joy has been stolen from Putney, London SW18 on the 2nd September. Please keep an eye out and contact me or the police with any information you may have. Thanks!

Runs and drives great, starts first time, Near new MOT with no advisories & Tax free!

Up for sale is my pride and joy. Ive owned ‘Lizzie’ for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it but with change of circumstance, I am moving back to New Zealand, so reluctantly I must let her go!

I use her about 3x a week and she always bursts into life first time and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Beautiful V8 burble, anyone who has driven these cars before knows how much of a great cruiser they are, with power there when you put your foot down. I’ve owned 2x P5b and 3x P6b’s and this one drives the nicest of the lot. Brakes are great, stops on a dime! Driven her on multiple trips around the UK, with no troubles whatsoever… Will be sad to see her go.

Now for the details:

I have owned for about 3 years, previous owner of over 15 years had her sitting in a garage not being used. I believe the 59,000 miles to be genuine. I have had extensive work carried out to get her back to MOT standard. Over £4500 or receipts, new Sills replaced due to rust.
There are a couple bits of cosmetic bubbles coming through the paint, and a couple of the doors have a small bit or rust underneath which I was going to get around to fixing. The bonnet has a slight crease in it, (see photo) however for 45 years old she is in pretty good condition. All chrome has survived well.

The Interior is in very good condition, with only a crack in the seam of the rear seat. Dash does look great for a car that is 45 years old! And All instruments work as they should except just recently the Tacho has stopped. I have fitted a push button start (she also starts on the key) as the ignition failed (common Rover problem).

Engine runs sweet, starts first time every time. All gauges make for good reading, Great oil pressure, Voltage and gets to operating temperature and stays there. Drives and Stops very well, have had brake overhaul 2 years ago, with new brake booster. Shifts gears up and down great.

In my ownership, I have replaced:

Both sills for MOT
New Battery
New Coil, Leads, Plugs & now running an electric ignition
New electronic fuel pump fitted and pressure regulator (Mechanical Fuel pump is common Rover problem) which is running off a relay and in-cabin kill switch.
SU Carbs have been removed, reconditioned with all new parts and tuned.
New choke cable fitted.
Oil filter, oil and Coolant changed.
Had a leaky power steering box so have replaced the entire box and hoses.
New brake booster and Pads.
Over £4500 of receipts.

These cars are appreciating fast and this one in particular is a road worthy, drive away, USEABLE motor whose new owner will love every minute driving just like I have!

Pick up in SW London. No tyre kickers or ridiculous offers please. Cheers
