Seller's comments about 1972' Rover P6

First registered in June 1972, this Rover 2200 SC Automatic is a wonderfully original example of one of Britain's finest executive saloons of the era. Finished in an elegant brown exterior with a complementary tan cloth interior, it presents exactly as a well-cared-for P6 should, combining timeless styling with the refinement and practicality that made the model such a respected choice when new.The car benefits from an exceptional and well-documented ownership history. Supplied new to its first owner, Mr Wade, it remained in his care until 2008. The second owner then cherished the car for a further fourteen years before passing it on in 2022. The most recent owner has used the Rover exactly as it was intended, enjoying it as a dependable daily driver, a testament to the car's reliability, comfort and ease of use. In total, the car has had only three previous owners from new.Mechanically, the Rover performs impressively. The automatic gearbox changes smoothly and makes for relaxed, effortless driving, while the car remains perfectly suited to regular use. A comprehensive service was carried out in September 2025 at 99, 679 miles, which included fresh engine oil and filter, new spark plugs, replacement antifreeze, screen wash, automatic transmission fluid and brake fluid. At the same time, it also received new wiper blades together with new front brake discs and brake pads, ensuring it is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.Accompanying the car is an excellent history file that reflects decades of careful ownership. Included are spare keys, the original Rover 2000 Automatic sales brochure and information leaflet, the original Rover 2000 Owner's Maintenance Manual, the previous V5 registration document confirming the ownership history, MOT certificates dating back through its history, together with servicing invoices retained from 1993 onwards. This impressive collection of paperwork provides an outstanding record of the car's life and maintenance. The Rover P6 remains one of the most innovative British saloons ever produced, celebrated for its advanced engineering, refined road manners and understated elegance. Increasingly sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate originality and usability, examples with such well-documented provenance and long-term ownership history are becoming ever harder to find.A beautifully presented, honest and eminently usable classic that is ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately.Viewing is strictly by appointment only.
