Seller's comments about 1967' Singer Chamois

Hi, we are Paul Higgs Cars based in New Milton in Hampshire.

We specialise in Classic Minis and also have a broad knowledge and experience of British Classic cars. We always have a selection of Classics available and we pride ourselves on offering a friendly service with objective advice. We also offer full garage services ranging from a service to a full restoration. Our full details can be found on our website and we are always happy to discuss your requirements.

We are pleased to offer a very worthwhile restoration project in the form of a very rare and desirable Singer Chamois. These fantastic machines have a huge following including a thriving club scene and great racing pedigree.

Ours was registered in 1967 and has survived for 50 years complete with all its original Singer goodies. These cars were marketed as the luxury Imp to boost sales in the late sixties and included larger more comfortable seats, wood veneer dash, water and oil temp gauges and a heater blower. Other extras include spot lights, analogue clock, reversing light and smiths rear heated de mister.

As you can see form the pics its now ready fore some TLC. It has been off the road since 2006 but has only had 4 previous keepers and the clock is reading 19500 miles and although this cannot be verified, the condition of the carpets and the trim and its completeness it may be correct.

The floor pans are in good solid condition and the carpets can be removed to show the condition of the floors. The bodywork will require attention, there are some bubbles in places and storage marks but its all a straight forward project. We have not tried to start the engine as after lying dormant for 11 years its good practice to remove and inspect it to prevent any damage.

The underside seems solid and does have underseal so again i would prefer you to make up your own mind. From what i can see, the O/S rear arch needs a repair. There is also a crack between the floorpan and the inner sill on the drivers side. The arches are in good shape but there are signs of them requiring attention. There is also bubbling on the bottom of both doors. All of this is repairable making this a straight forward project.

The interior will require attention but again its all complete and in clean condition and i also have the original floor matts.

The Singer is complete with its original service and owners handbooks along with some service history. These cars are commanding very strong values and prices for them continues to rise especially for such a rare variant as this one.

Viewings are welcome and i am happy to answer questions you may have either through here or on 07752414395 or 01425 839617. Paul.
