Barn find vintage special built on shortened 1933 Singer 12 chassis with tuned rebuilt Riley 1 ½ litre twin cam engine.

Chassis is fully boxed, with the engine mounted low and well back for good weight distribution. Hydraulic brakes are fitted but not plumbed in. Front axle has Luvax lever arm hydraulic shockers fitted with telescopic rear. Both front and rear axles are located by radius rods, so handling should be excellent.

Engine block is stamped 15-4-46 and would appear to be unused –bores are standard 69mm and still have honing marks. Engine has been completely rebuilt with balanced crank, new shell bearings, high compression pistons and cams reground to Sprite specification. Cylinder head is reconditioned and fitted with valve seat inserts, but is missing valves, springs, rocker gear, pushrods etc.. New Borg and Beck diaphragm clutch. Inlet manifold is present, but no carb, dynamo, distributor, water pump, exhaust. No wiring or instruments. Replacement pressurized radiator suppled. Riley gearbox with synchro on 2nd, 3rd and top. 17” bolt on wire wheels.

I bought this about eight years ago, but have never had the time to work on it –I now realise I have too many projects, so this will have to go. I’ve collected some parts, including a Mazda MX5 steering column and intermediate shaft to get through IVA, which will be required because of the shortened chassis. Original Front and Rear Axles, Suspension and Steering should ensure an age related plate.

Currently it has a short “trials” tail, but I was planning to fit an extended tail as per the artist’s impression, and I think it will make a very pretty car.
