Seller's comments about 1963' Singer Vogue

Rare 1962 Singer Vogue 1. 6 Automatic, Superb Throughout, Massive History File, 55, 642 Miles, MOTd February 2026. £5950A superb low mileage car accompanied by a comprehensive history file that includes the original purchase invoice, 27 MOT certificates, numerous invoices, hand written notes and letters, photographs, and the original Singer workshop and owners manuals.Originally purchased new in 1963 for £946 15s 5d by Air Marshall Sir John Bradley CBE at the age of 76. He cherished the car and used it sparingly until his passing in 1980 at the age of 93. In his will, Sir John left the car to his housekeeper, who, despite little need for a car, carefully stored it until 1985. At that point it was sold showing just 31, 000 miles on the clock. The exterior presents beautifully in largely original condition, showing only minor blemishes consistent with a 62 year old car. The car has never required restoration, its just been consistently well maintained and serviced when needed.Inside, the car retains a strong sense of originality. The upholstery is in good condition and the carpets, which appear to have been replaced at some point, remain in very good condition. The engine bay, boot, and underside are clean and solid, with nothing evident to raise concern.(MOTd less than 600 miles ago)Mechanically, the car is quiet on the road and a genuine pleasure to drive, reflecting the careful maintenance it has enjoyed throughout its life. Although now MOT exempt, it currently carries a valid MOT certificate until February 2026, showing that it remains in excellent order. The Singer Vogue debuted in 1961 as the upmarket sibling to the Hillman Super Minx, offering more power, richer trim, and a touch of understated luxury within the Rootes Group range.Early Series models 1961 to 1966 featured a 1. 6 litre engine, distinctive tail fins, and steady updates to brakes and interiors. In 1966 the Arrow generation arrived with cleaner, modern lines and a 1. 7 litre engine.Production ended in 1970, and well kept examples are now prized for their elegant styling, comfortable ride, and relative rarity among British saloons of the era. Please keep in mind that she’s coming up to her 62nd birthday, and as with any classic car, even one as good as this, there may be room for improvement or areas that may need attention.HPI CHECK - The car has been checked and there is no known outstanding finance, mileage issues, or insurance records of damage or theft.DELIVERY - We can arrange delivery anywhere in the UK or Ireland at very reasonable rates.WHO AM I - I began as an apprentice mechanic in 1974, started my own car business in 1982, expanding to Newtownards in 1993. After selling the business my classic car passion led to the creation of Cherryvalley Cars and Classics.VIEWING - By appointment only.
