Seller's comments about 1931' Standard Big Nine Van
One previous owner from new, this van came into my possession three and a half years ago. Research indicates that this is the only genuine surviving example of a limited few ever produced. Perchaced on 21st August 1931 by Mr William Herbert Britton a Motor Engineer for the sum of £175 this van stayed in his possession until his death when it then came to auction and I purchased it. Mr Britton restored the vehicle in the 1970's and it won at numerous shows, in his old age the van was laid up and languished at the back of the garage. Since purchasing the van I have replaced the petrol tank, rear dampers, shot blasted and hot zink sprayed then painted the wheels, fitted two new tyres, refurbished the wiring, had the speedo refurbished and generally tided up what is a very genuine example of a 1930's van.
