1958 Studebaker Gold Hawk. Always regarded by most car designers and collectors as a trend-setting American car. 8-cyl. 289cid/275hp 2bbl SC. The Golden Hawk first hit the market with a tremendous splash in 1956 with a drastic departure from the norm for this era. They are athletic, powerful, and wholly unique. Raymond Loewy-inspired styling. On debut, available models included the Flight Hawk, Power Hawk, Sky Hawk, and top-of-the-line Golden Hawk. Featuring a long, low stance, aggressive out-front radiator, and subtle fiberglass rear fins. The Sky and Golden Hawks were true hardtops, no pillars. Engine Power in the Golden Hawk featured Packards 352-ci iron V8, which delivered 275 hp and an almost-garish 380 ft-lb of torque. It torpedos the car to 120 mph.
