Seller's comments about 1929' Sunbeam 16.9 Tourer With Dickey
UL 7905 has a well-documented history of owners from new, including Bill Boddy of Motorsport and his wife - founding member of the Sunbeam Talbot Daracq Register. There is a good hard file of maintenance work that includes copy invoices from workshops / garages etc. Since 2014 UL has had the benefit of well over £20k being spent on her and could be best described as having refurbishment as required but never subject to a full ground up restoration. The most recent mechanical work was a head refurbishment in 2020, and in May 2022 a windscreen glass replaced by a racing windscreen specialist. UL shows a good deal of authenticity for a vehicle that has been in fairly regular use for over 90 years. UL’s most recent “long haul” trip of 2 x 150 miles, was to the June 2021 STD meet at Beaulieu when both legs were completed non-stop at around 50mph on motorway routes, problem free. My ownership of UL has been “for using” and it still looks good having not been neglected and always dry garaged. UL starts, runs and stops well, the bodywork and hood / sidescreens are in pretty good order as is the upholstery. There is scope for improvement or using as is. The reason for sale is my purchase of a saloon (to transport the family) and insufficient space at home to keep 2 Sunbeams. I can supply a comprehensive computer file/ photos of owner history and maintenance work. Please feel free to contact me should you want more details. The price is 25, 000 ono reflecting the above and every enquiry will be replied to.
