Seller's comments about 1949' Triumph 1800 Town & Country Renown

1949 Triumph Razor Edge 1800 Town & Country Saloon (Renown) 4 Speed Manual. Road Tax and M.O.T. Exempt. Owned for 25 years and full known history, these are very rare now. They are best described as a 2/3 scale Bentley Mk VI being a very similar internal layout including a rear blind but much more glass area.

Grey with Blue Grey Leather 5 seat Interior.
Chassis Number: TD3717.
Registration Number: YSK 489
Mileage: 111,300 miles.

A full article on the history of TD3717 is in the Triumph Razor Edge Owners Club Magazine, April and July 1993. The Engine has been renovated just over 1,000 miles ago and the carburettor was refurbished just over 500 miles ago. The petrol tank has also been repaired and repainted in the last few months.

Very good condition, there are a few minor marks on the paintwork, it was completely repainted in 1980’s. The interior is in smart useable condition, the leather and carpets are original, the front bench seat would benefit from a few professional repairs to save it for the future.

A former winner of the TD class at the club rally this rare, stylish, elegant car represents a very affordable early post war classic car. The distinctive aesthetic beauty of this design is its greatest asset though the running performance is also very good, a smooth comfortable ride and an engine which bowls along very happily at 50 – 55 m.p.h.. I am sure there are less than 50 examples left in the world, a number have been transformed into Bergerac Roadsters. A number of tools and spare parts are included as well a huge file of documentation, photographs and a british motor industry heritage trust certificate.

Can be viewed in Louth by prior appointment in Lincolnshire.

Price £9,500 o.n.o.
