Seller's comments about 1973' Triumph GT6

General
Testing the water as I won't be using this as much now and it deserves to be used and enjoyed really. Purchased this very original example in Sept 2013 and made a few reversible modifications to make it as usable and reliable as possible. Original quite rare Emerald Green, I have the Heritage certificate with the car showing it is still in the original colour with the original colour black interior and still retains the original engine and has the nice folding rear seat option. Built in 1972, registered in March 1973, I also have receipts for all the new parts and the work done to the car by Triumph Specialists JY Classics.
Bodywork & Chrome
Very solid car, not a shower winner and if I end up keeping it I would probably re-spray it at some point but perfectly usable as is
Paint is a little dull overall, starting to crack along the roof edge, the front quarter valance has a little dent thanks to a pheasant and the paint is flaking by the RH bonnet latch (can send pics of these)
Professionally Waxoyled (JY Classics) in 2014
Chrome in fair/ok condition (7/10 I'd say)
All the panels are original metal to the car except one heritage replacement front wing panel
With a bit of fettling and a re-spray this could definitely rival/exceed the £20K cars being advertised, or just enjoy it as is as I have done, up to you!

Engine, Transmission & Drive
Original 2 litre engine & gearbox both in great condition- lovely sound and pulls like a train in all gears
85,000 miles, (believe original but can't fully prove this)
Leaded Head but runs perfectly on Unleaded due to "lead memory"- has run great on this for last 5 years.
New Original Style Air Filters changed every year
New Engine Oil+Filter changed every year
New Spin-on Oil Filter adaptor
Gear shifter rebuild by triumph specialist, shifts very nicely
Overdrive on 3rd & 4th
New Diff Oil and seals, no whines etc.
Canley Classics Rotoflex CV Conversion- JY Classics (no more rubbish quality rubber doughnuts to replace).
Suspension, Steering & Brakes
Car handles and stops really well. I completely overhauled the Suspension & Brakes early 2014. This was then also checked over by JY Classics- no expense spared.
New Front & Rear Koni adjustable classic dampers
New Superflex Polybushes (Blue)
New standard (200lbs/in) Springs from TSSC

New UK made Stub Axles (Canley Classics)

I also have stainless rear brake hoses which I haven't got round to fitting as current ones are fine but will be included with the sale (came as a kit with the front ones).

Electrical/Ignition
All gauges work and read as they should and lights all work. JY Classics installed a 123 Tune mappable electronic ignition system so the car runs great and is really reliable, have not had to touch this since install in 2014! Charges and starts well too. Only thing not working is the rear window demister. New parts listed below:
New NGK Spark Plugs every year
123 Tune Mappable Electronic Ignition with professional electronic rev counter conversion
New TSSC High Performance Spark Plug Leads each year
New Bosch Battery (2014)
New Battery Leads (2014)

Original Parts
I still have many of the original parts of the car if the new owner wants to revert back, I made sure any modifications I made were reversible. I have:
Original Oil Filter canister in good condition
Original Distributor, working well on car when removed
Original Girling Brake Master Cylinder
History/Receipts
Previous owner was an elderly gentleman who owner the car for 14 years, he had done all the work on the car himself and got it back on the road in 2006. I have all the MOT certificates back to this time which all have no advisories. I have all receipts/records for all work carried out on the car totaling thousands in parts and labour.

Summary
Overall then a very well sorted car that gets used regularly (as these cars should!) and has had tasteful modifications to make as usable as possible with still retaining the original look/feel of the car. Could easily be used every day (as i have done) and could also easily be reversed back to stock pretty easily if wanted. I have carefully selected any parts for the car avoiding all the reproduction items that just aren't up to the job. Well known Triumph Specialist completed some of the work and went through the car and since then it has been very reliable and lots of fun as a summer daily. The car is not a show winner due to the paintwork and so I have not priced it as such. If there's anything else you want to know let me know via email.
Please, no time wasters, I am in no rush to sell so no offers, I am happy to keep it and watch these rise in value. Any inspections welcome and recommended. Cash deposit required to hold car, full amount required before car will be released. Contact via email first please and I have more pictures I can send across.
