1972 Triumph Spitfire (1500) - Bare-Shell Rebuild!Detailed body-off-chassis restoration, prepared to high exhibition specification by marque enthusiast - appearance almost as a new car with particularly stunning engine bay, includes many desirable upgrades. Huge road presence with great sound, Although the works were completed some years ago, it has been barely used since, so still looks ripe for the show ring - see photos above, only taken a few days ago. To replicate a restoration to this standard today, professionally, would well exceed the asking price!Brief Restoration Details:-All new body panels and sills.New chrome parts.Overhauled late-model 1500 engine.Slightly lowered suspension with up-rated springs and shocks all round.Phoenix stainless steel performance twin exhaust.Silver, sculptured alloy wheels.Hydraulic gas bonnet struts.Power assisted brake servo system.Late model front, side indicator lights.New carpet set and Mota Lita steering wheel.All suspension and bushes up-rated to poly bush type.New Hood.Resplendent Lichfield Green (glass out) paint-job.New tyres.Plus many other upgraded items.(Please Note, the radio shown in the pictures is non-functional)Particular attention was paid to the alignment of the boot, doors and bonnet and these now fit better than when it left the factory, this must be the only Spitfire without a big gap at the corner of the bonnet to sill. This job alone took a whole week to accomplish, such was the dedication of the restorer, who seems to have been somewhat of a perfectionist which is probably why it took him 13 years to complete the restoration.Comes with History Folder, Books and tools.
