We are proud to offer this exceptional and rare example of a Triumph TR4 Police car. 4100 HJ was supplied new to Southend-on-Sea County Borough Constabulary in May 1962 via Easton Automobiles, Standard Triumph agents Leigh-on-Sea. The car was equipped with a Pye radio, Winkworth bell, air horns, spot lamps, reversing lamp, windscreen mounted hand operated lamp, front and rear Police signs, rear stop sign, wing mirrors and a
calibrated speedometer; all of which, with the exception of the speedometer, was fitted in the constabulary's own workshops. The optional overdrive was also fitted along with Goodyear Roadspeed tyres. Eventually the car was retired from the police force and passed through several owners before turning up in Somerset in the late 70's.
The car was stored until the decision was taken to restore 4100 HJ to the original police specification. An extensive restoration followed and was completed to the highest standards to represent as closely as possible the original condition and police specification. Such was the attention to detail that where special equipment was missing, the items were sourced with the assistance of the enthusiastic members of Police Car UK

Since restoration, this rare police car has been maintained to the highest standards as may be verified by an inspection of the car. The history file contains a copy of 'Advanced Driving Explained' by Inspector W. H. Jobson; price one shilling and six pence, with a picture of 4100 HJ on the front cover. There is also a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate verifying the car's provenance. Such is the scarcity of an example of a police TR4 that Vanguard Models have produced 1500 limited 'Special Edition' models based on this actual car and displaying its registration number, 4100 HJ.

A handful of Triumphs were converted for law enforcement use but this is believed to be the last remaining example in existence. Heavily documented, sympathetically restored, and toting a rich history.

Vehicle will come fully serviced by marque specialists TR Enterprises, 12 months MOT and 12 months membership to the TR Register.
