This original UK RHD matching numbers TR6 - Chassis No: CR54530 was first registered on 14th February 1974 and is presented in 'Concours' condition after a total nut and bolt 'body off chassis' rebuild which took 4 years to complete and was finally finished in early 2016.
The major body/chassis work was undertaken by I D Coachworks in Croydon and Sussex Blast Cleaning in Haywards Heath with the engine rebuild being carried out by Sutton Rebore Service Ltd in Sutton, Surrey. It has been meticulously stored and cared for since.
Almost everything on the car has been replaced with all parts supplied by Rimmer Brothers and Moss Europe Ltd. The list of works and parts is far too long to include here, but the major items are as follows:
New inner and outer wings New inner and outer sills New Floor pans New front and rear valances New Scuttle panel + new rear Deck New chassis mountings/pads Rebuilt Engine with 'unleaded' cylinder head + Mild Road Camshaft Reconditioned Gearbox and J Type Overdrive Recondition Differential New Clutch complete New brake Calipers/brakes New copper brake pipes New Radiator & Silicon hoses All new 'Poly-bushed' suspension New Poly-bushed Diff Mountings New Aluminium Petrol tank New Wiring loom and Switches New Windscreen and frame New S/S Tubular Manifold and S/S Sports Exhaust System Complete new interior and walnut Dashboard New rubber seals throughout New Hood frame and OE black vinyl Soft Top.
Almost £35,000 has been spent on the parts and body/chassis works and engine rebuild, but this sum does not include the labour for rebuilding/refitting the remainder of the car!
It is without doubt one of the best examples currently available for sale in the UK and since the rebuild the car has only covered around 3000 miles and a believed genuine 91,000 miles from new!
There is a huge history file containing all invoices for the parts used during the rebuild + a series of photographs as well.
It drives like a new TR6 and should be a good investment for the future.
