1975' Triumph TR6

A genuine low mileage example of Triumph’s iconic and increasingly desirable TR6, finished in Signal Red with black leather interior. The car is specified with overdrive (in 3rd and 4th gears) and benefits from a stainless steel sports exhaust, providing a rewarding and distinctive engine note.
Registered in May 1974, the car has covered just 58,000 genuine miles during its life, supported by an extensive history file which documents the car’s superb level of care, maintenance and service, together with a heritage certificate.

The car has, over the last 24 months, undergone an extensive mechanical restoration, believed to be its first. This includes an overhaul of the engine (engine-out re-bore), steering, suspension, brakes, cooling system, rebuilt and overhauled fuel-injection system (including fuel pump), installation of a new Luminition electronic ignition system and replacement wheel bearings.

During this time, the car was fully checked-over by specialists. The chassis was confirmed to be solid and original, and the clutch and gearbox in good condition. There are no visible oil leaks.

With just a little choke required when cold, the engine fires into life delivering a strong oil pressure and an evocative soundtrack. The car drives just as it should, pulling keenly through the gears, the overdrive making for an effortless experience. The ride quality is surprisingly good too, both on the straight and through the corners. And that engine tone.....

Cosmetically, the exterior of the car will require some attention in order to achieve its maximum potential. It is solid and original, but there are some blemishes to the paintwork which also shows evidence of some fading. The panels all fit as they should with even and minimal door gaps (by standards of the time!). The vinyl hood is serviceable but has a small tear so will need to be replaced at some point, perhaps with an upgraded Mohair hood?

With some relatively minor cosmetic care and attention, this presents a rare opportunity to create a fine, genuine low mileage example of the iconic Triumph TR6 PI and to ensure that this original example continues to turn heads throughout the next chapter in its life.
