Seller's comments about 1971' TVR Tuscan Wide Bdy 302Ci
1971 TVR Wide Bodied Tuscan with Fords 302ci. SPY90 After 36 years of ownership this car is now finally ready for another chapter in telling the TVR history. With a supporting letter from the TVR factory in 1986, this rare car, chassis no 2148T is the only running and driving model of its kind in the UK. We know of one other in UK (disassembled) one in France or Germany and 2 in the USA. With the confirmation of it being the 1971 Wide Bodied car it was under the ownership of Martin Lilly at the time and it was not registered till 1974. The car can be seen in the book “A Passion To Succeed” by Peter Philby and several other publications. The plate SPY90 has disappeared so when registered in 1974 had 48UHU which it still holds. A full restoration of the whole car was carried out in 2002 and it featured in Classic Cars edition June 2003. Since then it has only been driven 1, 000 miles and in July this year has had a light re-commission and put back on the road. The engine is the Ford 302ci, Holley Carb and mated with the Borg Warner 5 speed box.
