Chassis number OE 74 is a beautiful example of a velox Vauxhall 30-98, with smart green coachwork and black hide. It is a connoisseur’s vintage sports car with wonderful performance. The 30-98 OE’s evolved from the E specification, providing them with an overhead valve engine producing 115 b.h.p and four wheel brakes.

OE 74 was first purchased by H.F. Clay in 1924, who used it in many northern competitions. It was rebuilt just after the war for its second owner D. Rayner by Molyneux and West, using parts of OE 224. It had a Bentley front axle, Servo brakes and ‘E’ type back axle. The car was later owned for thirty years by the renowned restoration specialist Arthur Archer, who carried out a total restoration of the car in the late 1980s, returning the car back to its original specification. This highly detailed restoration included the recreation of a new body. The car has been impeccably maintained ever since and is therefore in very good condition throughout.

In 2002 OE 74 gained entry into the prestigious Louis Vuitton concours d’elegancé in Paris, and has toured extensively in France.

The car has a continuous history from new, and comes with an extensive history file that includes period photographs. OE 74 is one of the best 30-98 OE’s that we have encountered and is ready for long-distance touring.
