Seller's comments about 1957' Volkswagen Beetle

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1957 Volkswagen Beetle, finished in red over a red interior. This oval-window Beetle presents to a nice driver standard. Perfectly sorted for touring or joining ranks with the other Beetles at your local club or car show. Owned by an air-cooled enthusiast for the past couple of years, it has seen extensive service recently and is now ready to be enjoyed by its next steward. The 1200cc flat four runs well and feels peppier than other early Beetles weve driven. The engine numbers indicate a 1959 production year. Its paired with the usual four speed manual transaxle and recent service has included an overhaul of the fuel system, a refinished flywheel, new clutch, transmission mainshaft seal, new six-volt generator and voltage regulator, and a full tune up consisting of a valve adjustment, plugs and wires, points, and a motor and gear oil change. Work to the front end consisted of new link pins, link pin bushings, king pins, tie rod ends, and cleaning of the spindles and carriers. Tires, brake lines, and drum brakes are new, as well. The paint is driver quality over a straight and rust free body, with the desirable oval window in the rear. The floor pans are solid and believed to be original. Exterior trim, chrome, and the wheels all present nicely, and the roof rack is an attractive and useful addition. The red interior is appointed with the original Bendix radio (inoperable), wire cup holders, a parcel tray, and color matched seat belts and door cards. Volkswagen mudflaps are in place behind the rear tires. This is a well sorted early Beetle with good service history, tasteful aftermarket additions, and rare options like the radio, fuel gauge, and oval window.
