Seller's comments about 1979' Volkswagen Beetle

We love to find stories like this 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. Its odometer has less than 250 miles on it! Thats because this final-year triple-white car was truly cherished. So if youre looking for a unique collector car with a documented history, dig a little deeper into this special drop-top Bug. The Beetle convertible was something special in 1979. It represented one of the few ragtops left in the USA, and it was also the end of the life of this game-changing icon. So dealers like Stohlman Volkswagen in Virginia left a special car on display in the showroom for years after the production ended. In fact, this one wasnt sold into private hands until 1983. The doctor who bought it intended it to be a gift for his wife, but she could not drive a stick shift. So it stayed shielded from the Virginia winters in the condos garage. It was sold to a new collector in the late 1980s, and it kept within that family until 2017. In total, as far as we can tell, this has always been in the hands of collectors. Thats the reason why most people walk further in a few days than this one has averaged in a year! The Alpine white shows all signs of being the original application. It still looks quite attractive on such a clean and complete car. There have been a few touch-ups over the decades and some imperfections today. You could certainly repair and respray the car, but really, these feel more like the character that helps tell the survivor story. After all, there are seldom other Bugs out there that may have the original badging or the original roof. But this one appears to carry its full package that came from Wolfsburg - right down to the tires! Under the factory-correct white top is the factory-correct white interior. So the paint, roof, and upholstery make this an ultra-desirable triple-white collectible. With such low mileage, youre really only going to find hints of age, not wear. Its mostly the kind of things that need a comprehensive cleaning if you were trying to take this back to day one, but part of the fun is how much this remains a time capsule. Even careful convertible owners have seen their dash warp from decades in the sun, wood-like trim fall, torn the convertible boot, or wear out the leatherette around the steering wheel. But this one remains a benchmark. And while this was not optioned for a radio at the factory, the AM radio kit for the dealer-installed unit even comes with the sale. So you just know owing this one will include the fun of showing off the unique details and paperwork. While the mileage is almost impossibly low, this Beetle has remained in the hands of collectors. So that means proper maintenance. That is why the fuel-injected 1600cc flat-four remains such a strong runner. So we wont blame you for adding to the odometer by driving this one every weekend to different car shows (maybe even get a separate set of wheels and tires to preserve the special stock rubber.) The four-speed manual transmission and desirable Super Beetle are even more reasons why the open road is calling. Because this is such a special car, youll be pleased that it comes with the right paperwork. This includes a detailed history summary, the original window sticker, the owners manual, and title documentation verifying the low mileage. Cars this special hardly ever come up for sale. So if youre a true VW fan, you dont want to miss this drop-top. Call today!!!
