BONITO - The manufacturer first presented Fiberfab Bonito to the public in September 1969 at the IAA fair in Frankfurt. The car was a well-designed 2+2-seater sports coupé with a flat front, low beltline and angular rear, built on a VW Beetle chassis and engine. The appearance of the Bonito corresponded to the common ideas of a classic sports car at that time. According to company president Jörgfrieder Kuhnle, Fiberfab produced over 1,000 Bonito kits during the ten-year construction period. According to information from "Bonito & KitCar IG Germany", there are still about 100 VW Beetles with Bonito bodies in Germany alone. Even half of them are not yet roadworthy or do not have road approval.
