1960' Volkswagen Camper

Imported from New Mexico, USA, as a project by myself some 8 years ago. The bus was super straight, and had never been in an accident, or had any bodywork, or welding carried out at any time of it’s life.

The welding and undercarriage were professionally restored by Nick and Steve at Double H Restorations in Kenilworth, over a 12 month period. I have detailed restoration photo’s available for any interested parties of the level of workmanship and detail that was put into this restoration.

Metalwork completed includes;
• New outriggers
• New jacking points
• Inner and outer sills (Cargo door side sill NOS VW Panel)
• Front arches
• Outer front floor sections
• Battery tray
• Front inner valance
• Inner arch repairs
• Restoration of original belly bans, centre section being made to unbolt for access
• Full underside blasting, followed by zinc prime, high build prime and then stonechip followed by numerous coats of sealing wax lower body colour paint.

• Gloss black detailed 4” narrowed & adjustable “Weedeater” front beam
• 2.5” dropped disc spindles
• Adjustable rear spring plates
• Porsche 944 IRS rear conversion inc 944 rear discs
• Restored single pot Porsche 944 calipers
• Front 944 disc conversion
• Cross drilled discs all round
• Freeway Flyer IRS box
• Raised steering box
• Spax adjustable shocks all round

Upholstery
• Og front bench seat needs re covering
• Both rows of rear seats in very good original condition
• Sunroof re trimmed in black mohair
• Needs a headliner (have original style Wolfsburg West headliner that I will include in sale)

Exterior
• Chrome and detailed Flat4 Fuch alloys 4.5 x 15 fronts and 5.5 x 15 rears
• 6 Pop out side windows with ultra long original spoon latches
• Creative Engineering polished ali safari front windows
• All new seals
• Detailed fuel tank and engine bay
• Restored and re painted genuine VW US Spec bumpers

Engine
• Recon 1641 detailed engine with OG VW Solex recon standard carb.
