Each of us knows the classic Polish comic books - a needle on the outside, but a disappointment underneath. However, the Americans turned this concept upside down in the 1950s by creating the hot rod movement - a layer of rust there can hide a real gem.
Today we present you a European "hot rod" that proudly tells its story - this is the VW Kafer Beetle.
Our friendly Beetle looks tired of life, but a trained eye will quickly notice that it is only an appearance. The lowered suspension and bold rims reveal from the outside that there is something more hidden under the layer of patina.
Our characterful VW comes from Sweden, where it spent most of its life in a shed - hence the low mileage of 32,633 km in a car from 1965.
The already mentioned patina is a coating of rust on chrome and surface layers of paint. The car is prepared for the driver who is looking for something unique, different than most freshly painted cars. Of course, you can unscrew the cassette from the frame and renovate the whole thing - we leave the decision to the future buyer.
The described unit has undergone a comprehensive renovation of the chassis:
- sandblasted and repainted frame,
- new floor panels,
- new fuel system,
- new braking system,
- new suspension system,
- new electrical system,
- new rims + new tires
- new, original Hella headlights
Literally everything on the frame is new and has not even been driven 1 km.
The engine has undergone a basic service with an oil and filter change. New exhaust system "whistles" were installed
and a new period battery in an ebonite casing.
The interior may not appeal to everyone. It differs significantly from the original and we are aware of it.
But that was the idea. It was supposed to be different than all the others:
- new carpets and rugs,
- new upholstery sides,
