Seller's comments about 1988' Volkswagen Golf

The Volkswagen Golf GTI 16v was introduced as the high-performance evolution of the second-generation Golf GTI, combining the practical hatchback design of the standard Golf with a more powerful 1. 8-litre 16-valve engine. With its distinctive styling, sharp handling and strong performance, the GTI 16v quickly became one of the most recognisable and desirable hot hatches of its era and remains a firm favourite among enthusiasts and collectors today.First registered in 1988, this Calypso Green Volkswagen Golf GTI 16v is a well-documented example which has undergone a comprehensive rebuild by its current owner. The current owner purchased the car from the previous owner and completed the rebuild themselves, to an incredibly high standard as you an see from the images, with the Golf being returned to the road towards the end of 2021. At the time it was put back on the road, the mileage was recorded at 141, 157 miles. Following the incredible rebuild, the car was driven and the usual small details were gradually identified and attended to, allowing the car to be properly enjoyed and developed following its return to the road. The history file is particularly comprehensive and contains every bill and invoice for the parts purchased during the rebuild. Specialist work is also documented, including invoices for the paintwork and tuning carried out by John Mitchell Racing, a specialist in Volkswagen and Audi vehicles. The file is further supported by photographs taken before the rebuild and an impressive collection of over 200 photographs documenting the rebuild process itself.The car is finished in Calypso Green with a black leather interior and retains its original steering wheel, along with a selection of other original parts. A Sonic CD player has been fitted for modern convenience while retaining the character and usability of the car. The original V. A. G service folder is present and contains the Volkswagen Golf instruction manual, warranty documentation and European service booklet. V5 history is also available to help document the car’s ownership history.The Golf currently has an MOT until February 2027 and, importantly, the current MOT carries no advisories.
