Seller's comments about 1986' Volkswagen Polo Mk2 Polo Classic
Sadly I am putting my wonderful polo up for sale, unfortunately I am selling as I have lost both time and interest for the car and would like to see it go to a good home instead of letting it rot in the drive.
The number of previous keepers is 2. The gentleman who sold it to me acquired the car from his late grandmother. who had the car from brand new and only ever drove it to town and back. I bought the car with only 18,000 miles on it. The car is now on 46,680 miles GENUINE.
The car is in a really good condition, the paint has no cracks or blemishes and was regularly polished and waxed by hand. Very little rust on the car, rear slam bar has been replaced last month.
so silly me I thought the car would look good with red tape on the grille, unfortunately I was wrong but I do have a completely black grille too that will also come with the car.
Regularly serviced by myself and my old man, oil change a few months ago, spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter all changed a couple months ago. The exhaust was also changed this year as the previous exhaust was more like a cheese grater.
the wheels were changed from standard set of polo wheels to some VW MK2 golf steels (they look great banded)
the cars old suspension was leaking and I replaced them with a set of ta technix coilovers, replaced with new track rods and track rod ends. the car has been lowered but not too much. apart from this the car is completely un-molested.
the interior of the car is completely standard, has a bit of wear and tear on the drivers seat. passenger side door card vinyl is peeling/ peeled. see picture.
car does have speakers and a stereo, it still has the original polo speaker up the front (its a bit rubbish) so I installed some newer speakers into the parcel shelf. mounted from the boot so the speakers aren't visible from inside the car.
The car does have a v5c and is still taxed and MOT (20th September), can be driven away when purchased.
Lastly, this car is rare and you wont see many of these. It is the smaller spec of the polo saloons. the 4 speed 1 litre. however it is a fantastic car and a great start to getting into the Volkswagen scene. the baby jetta !
