This is the Volvo 122S, a striking model with an incredibly important history for the Swedish brand across all markets. Also known as the Amazon, this model would represent the first post-war four-door bodywork and, following the PV445 Duett, the first four-door “Station Wagon” built from a Volvo passenger car.
The Station Wagon version was introduced at the 1962 Stockholm Motor Show and Volvo built 73,000 examples between 1962 and 1969. This model featured a double tailgate, with the lower section folding away to provide a loading surface and the upper section that opened vertically. This idea was also used by the original MINI from 1959. The Amazon platform was also used as the basis for the P1800 and 1800ES.
With an iconic appearance and an interior that represents the beginning of a modern era, this unit is in excellent condition and features Overdrive.
