Seller's comments about 1958' Wolseley 15/50

The Wolseley 15/ 50 is a British saloon car produced by Wolseley Motors in the late 1950s, positioned as a refined and well-appointed motorcar for the discerning driver who valued comfort, craftsmanship and understated elegance. With its distinctive illuminated grille badge, generous interior space and smooth driving manners, the 15/ 50 became a familiar sight on Britain’s roads during a period when motoring was as much about occasion as it was about transport.First registered on the 8th of September 1958, this particular example presents in classic grey coachwork complemented beautifully by a rich red interior, a colour combination that suits the car’s dignified lines and period charm perfectly. The car has had just three previous owners from new, with a history that is as appealing as the vehicle itself.Supplied new by a garage in New Milton, the Wolseley spent its entire working life in West Moors, Dorset. It was originally owned by two sisters who cherished the car locally before passing it to Mr Evans, maintaining its gentle and well-documented custodianship. The third and most recent owner undertook an extensive and sympathetic restoration, returning the car to pristine condition while respecting its originality and character. The restoration work has been comprehensive and carefully staged over several years. In 2025 the car received a new carpet set throughout along with a new exhaust system. During 2024 wheel bearings, seals and gaskets were renewed, while 2023 saw a full suspension rebuild alongside a new oil filter, brakes and shoes. In 2022 the wiring behind the dashboard was professionally rewired, new dash knobs were fitted, and spark plugs and an oil filter were replaced. Earlier, in 2020, the car benefited from a new clutch and a full service. An electronic ignition has also been fitted, enhancing reliability while remaining discreet and in keeping with the car’s character. The vehicle comes complete with both the original period Wolseley 15/ 50 owner’s operating manual and the large workshop manual, a rare and valuable addition for any enthusiast. Invoices are present for all work carried out, providing excellent provenance and peace of mind.Offered today, this Wolseley 15/ 50 represents an opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored example of a quintessentially British classic saloon, presented in an elegant specification and ready to be enjoyed, admired and preserved for years to come.
